I was born and raised in CT in a large family of artists where being "weird" was normal. My college years were spent studying jewelry at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where I earned my B.F.A.
After graduating, I relocated to Brooklyn, NY with a group of artist friends. I spent my time here as a jeweler's assistant to an established designer at Clear Metals in SoHo. I also worked at developing my own line of jewelry. Okay, I also made friends, got lots of tattoos and spent many hours in our favorite brooklyn bar (Sweet Water Tavern, RIP).
After 9-11, I decided I needed some peace and quiet. In 2002 I found myself in Virginia. I'm now in Richmond, VA (and still a damn yankee liberal!) with my awesome husband and most excellent cats.
I don't take myself too seriously when designing my jewelry although I'm inspired by death imagery and sacred things (cemeteries, reliquaries, objects and rituals for burial and mourning, memorials, churches, ancient cultures, nature). I'm obsessed with sacred hearts. I also love getting tattooed and am inspired by tattoo imagery.
My sister calls me morbid and my husband nicknamed me cemetere. What can I say? I love this stuff.
